DIY Whipped Shea/Mango Butter
Homemade whipped shea butter is a great DIY moisturizer for all skin type. Shea Butter is rich in Vitamins A, E and Fatty Acids. it is a renown moisturizer that reduces skin irritations, evens out skin tone and wrinkles, and is non-comedogenic so can be used on sensitive or acne-prone skin.The moisturizing properties in Shea butter can transform dry skin, making it moist and supple. 1 Cup Shea butter
1/2 cup mango butter (optional)
1/4 cup coconut oil
2 tbs grape seed oil
Place Shea and mango butter in a glass container or any heat proof ceramics. Gently Heat Shea butter, using the double boiler method, by placing the glass container in hot water to melt. Once the butters are melted add the oils to the mixture and stir.
Place in the freezer for 25 mins to slightly harden the butter.
Once harden, use an electric mixer to whisk butters into a whipped consistency for 10 minutes. Store in a glass jar or an airtight containers.
Shea butter has a long shelf life, so it will stay good up to a year..depending on your shea butter expiry date.
I also use this whipped shea butter in my hair as a leave in conditioner and sealant.keep my hair moisturiser for days.
